Painting and Palette: Dream Catcher complete
This piece has been complete for about two weeks now. The courage to share it online still evades me, but today I share the complete work with you, and you can tell me what you think. I thoroughly enjoyed working on this piece, and I am in the process of painting it digitally as well. I find that this process of drawing and painting has caught my attention, and I am currently sketching out a new canvas that will compliment Dream catcher.
Dream Catcher
After completing this painting and stepping back from it I realized something quite unexpected… the palette is almost as interesting as the piece itself. While I took great care in the detail of my painting, the freedom of trying things out, blending colours and cleaning off brushes has left behind an image that intrigues the eye. I showed the palette to my grandmother and the first thing she said was, “it needs some bees.” Pick up the ol’ brushes again and put in some bees. Side by side these two pieces are as different from each other as they can be. Complete opposites. However, they worked together to bring to life a wordless story that lived only in my mind. Heres to painting and palette.
